Job Summary

Support classroom and shipboard laboratory training for ASW and SONAR watch stations, helping instructors deliver tactical employment instruction tied to SONAR variants. Coordinate and deliver training materials aligned to customer objectives, perform course reviews and curriculum updates, and assist with assessments of Sailors’ technical proficiency. Integrate training systems (SAST, AEGIS training systems, BFTT) and develop advanced scenario-based training materials, including research into new ASW training and multimedia technologies.

Key Responsibilities

•Support classroom and shipboard laboratory-based instruction related to SONAR operations and ASW tactical employment for SONAR watch stations.
•Assist with training support for tactical watch stations, including SONAR Supervisor, SAWO, Passive ASO, Active ASO, SCFS, and UCFS.
•Support integration of training systems such as Surface ASW Synthetic Trainer (SAST), AEGIS training systems, and Battle Force Tactical Trainer (BFTT).
•Coordinate and deliver ASW training materials aligned to customer training objectives, including course reviews, curriculum updates, and training gap analysis.
•Assist with development, testing, maintenance, and delivery of advanced tactical scenario-based ASW training materials, including dynamic assessments and instructor evaluation activities.

Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline OR an equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.
•5+ years of specialized shipboard experience as a qualified SONAR Supervisor (NEC-V56B) on AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 variants.
•At least 1 year of experience as an instructor in a Navy training environment (preferred).
•Knowledge of advanced tactical SONAR system employment and familiarity with Target Motion Analysis, Firing Point Procedures, Tactical Oceanography, Range Prediction Systems, and Acoustic Data Collection.
•Active Secret security clearance and U.S. Citizenship required.
