Key Responsibilities

  • •Under broad direction, leads the selection and development of composites, elastomers, plastics, lubricants, and other non-metallic material systems across multiple complex projects, applying advanced materials engineering principles.
  • •Drives end-to-end materials development, including formulation, processing, qualification, and field deployment.
  • •Serves as a subject matter expert in non-metallic materials and processes for molded, formed, and formulated products.
  • •Leads investigation and deployment of alternative materials and processes to improve performance, reliability, and cost.
  • •Integrates data-driven and AI-enabled approaches into materials design, optimization, and scale-up workflows.

Key Requirements

  • •Undergraduate degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline and 7 years of relevant experience.
  • •Masters or PhD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or similar discipline preferred.
  • •Professional licensure certification preferred.
  • •Demonstrated depth in non-metallic materials systems (polymers, elastomers, composites) and their processing.
  • •Experience applying data science and/or AI/ML methods to accelerate materials development or optimize performance is highly desirable.
