Job Summary

Senior Roads Engineer to join the Roads team in Scotland, auditing PAG projects for Transport Scotland. Responsibilities include on-site and office auditing of works, verification of measured quantities, and reporting on contract compliance and payment requests, supported by knowledge of road maintenance and construction and an emphasis on contract-driven deliverables within a major civil engineering practice.

Key Responsibilities

•Review, audit and monitor on-site works and associated records and report on compliance with contract documentation and good working practices.
•Review, audit and monitor on-site works and associated records and report on the veracity of Suppliers’ requests for payments.
•Review, audit and monitor on-site works and associated records and provide information for the Employer’s responses to disputed contractual issues.
•Be fully conversant with and understand the relevant Supplier contracts.
•Operate as part of the PAG team to support road maintenance and construction projects and ensure adherence to standards.

Key Requirements

•Incorporated Engineer or Graduate Engineer with significant experience.
•HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent with comprehensive experience.
•Extensive relevant experience in on-site and office assessment and verification of measured quantities and compliance with contracts, processes and standards.
•Demonstrable knowledge of maintenance and construction works related to roads networks.
•Ability to review, audit and monitor on-site works and provide information for employer responses to contractual issues.
