Key Responsibilities

  • •Report to the Engineering Manager for the Mobile Platform team and contribute to the Android roadmap.
  • •Collaborate with native mobile engineers to design, build, and evolve the Android platform.
  • •Migrate the app from React Native to native Android, building in Kotlin with strong architectural foundations.
  • •Partner with the wider mobile engineering community, including React Native developers, to define best practices for native development.
  • •Improve performance, robustness, and overall quality by addressing bottlenecks, debt, and defects to optimise user experience.

Key Requirements

  • •Experienced in building production Android applications in Kotlin and publishing apps to Google Play.
  • •Strong understanding of Android frameworks, platform APIs, and native app development best practices.
  • •Background working on modern, high-engagement mobile applications with a focus on performance and reliability.
  • •Passionate about quality with a track record of thoughtful design, testing, and maintainable code.
  • •Motivated to create broad impact through better processes, tooling, and automation that raise mobile engineering standards.
