Key Responsibilities

•Report to the Engineering Manager for the Mobile Platform team and contribute to the Android roadmap.
•Collaborate with native mobile engineers to design, build, and evolve the Android platform.
•Migrate the app from React Native to native Android, building in Kotlin with strong architectural foundations.
•Partner with the wider mobile engineering community, including React Native developers, to define best practices for native development.
•Improve performance, robustness, and overall quality by addressing bottlenecks, debt, and defects to optimise user experience.

Key Requirements

•Experienced in building production Android applications in Kotlin and publishing apps to Google Play.
•Strong understanding of Android frameworks, platform APIs, and native app development best practices.
•Background working on modern, high-engagement mobile applications with a focus on performance and reliability.
•Passionate about quality with a track record of thoughtful design, testing, and maintainable code.
•Motivated to create broad impact through better processes, tooling, and automation that raise mobile engineering standards.
