Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead a team of technical environmental professionals to develop and drive continuous improvement of environmental strategies across Teck’s complex industrial site.
  • •Manage annual planning and effective control of multimillion-dollar environmental budgets.
  • •Direct environmental remediation programs for historically impacted areas and groundwater remediation related to historical activities at Trail Operations.
  • •Implement Wide Area Remediation Plan (WARP) measures for historical air emissions impacts across the 25,000 ha Environmental Management Area and advance the Lower Columbia Ecosystem Management Program.
  • •Develop and implement strategies and programs to reduce community exposure to SO2 and ambient metals, support aquatic effects monitoring, and deliver noise mitigation and monitoring outcomes.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: 135,000 - 185,000

Key Requirements

  • •10–15 years of progressive leadership experience in heavy industry (e.g., smelting and refining, mining operations) and strategic resource management.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering field related to environmental management, or equivalent experience.
  • •Proven leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • •Excellent project management experience with a track record that includes management and/or technical direction of multiple environmental projects.
  • •Technical knowledge of relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations, including delivering regulatory submissions and public-facing materials.
