Key Responsibilities

  • •Own end-to-end employee lifecycle administration for Japan (onboarding, transfers, contract changes, offboarding) with accuracy and adherence to service levels.
  • •Act as subject-matter expert on Japan employment law, work rules, and statutory requirements, owning compliance audits and documentation.
  • •Own Workday configuration, workflows, and data integrity given the organization’s reliance on the platform.
  • •Drive operational mechanics of performance management processes for Japan, including goal-setting, performance reviews, and development plan tracking.
  • •Extend HR business partnering support beyond Japan to assigned APJ markets, covering employee relations advisory, performance cycle support, and organizational change support across time zones.

Key Requirements

  • •Fluency in Japanese and English.
  • •Proven experience in a People Operations, HR Shared Services, or HRBP role delivering HR processes in Japan.
  • •Experience acting as an HRBP across more than one APJ market, handling differing labor law and cultural contexts across time zones.
  • •Hands-on Workday competency (configuration, workflows, reporting).
  • •Comprehensive knowledge of Japan employment law, statutory compliance, and HR best practices, with a compliance-first mindset.
