Job Summary

Lead portfolio management and credit underwriting for Key’s State & Local Governments and Education (SLED) clients, supporting multimillion-dollar lending requests. Perform financial analysis, spread statements, assess creditworthiness, structure transactions, and prepare underwriting documentation. Own ongoing credit monitoring, risk rating, covenant compliance, and loan documentation reviews. Partner with relationship managers and credit teams to execute transactions, support approvals, and identify cross-sell opportunities while maintaining sound risk management and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

•Analyze financial data for clients/prospects, calculate credit metrics, identify risks and mitigants, and assess creditworthiness.
•Structure transactions with business partners/bankers/relationship managers and contribute as a value-add advisor to the deal team.
•Prepare comprehensive credit underwriting documentation covering structure, financial performance, risks/mitigants, and policy compliance.
•Conduct ongoing portfolio monitoring, including covenant compliance, accurate risk ratings, and identification of emerging credit concerns.
•Manage loan documentation and participate in approvals for lending commitments, amendments, waivers, and consents while ensuring KYC and regulatory compliance.

Travel: Low travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 96,000 - 181,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in finance, accounting, economics and/or business.
•Minimum 5 years of commercial underwriting, credit, banking, and/or financial services experience, with municipal/public sector or not-for-profit underwriting strongly preferred.
•Demonstrated competence in financial analysis and modeling, including researching, analyzing data, and synthesizing information into underwriting packages.
•Experience structuring appropriate financial covenants for municipal and not-for-profit credit facilities.
•Ability to lead client negotiations and act as a primary lending representative, working with counsel on credit agreement and document negotiations.
