Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Engage with partner organizations to harmonize policies and programmes and ensure full support and implementation of WHO guidance related to CMN.
  • •Provide scientific, technical, and policy advice to Member States to establish policies and programmes improving CMN via screening and lifestyle interventions alongside medical treatment.
  • •Coordinate development of scientific guidance and tools to assess, monitor, and implement national intersectoral and inter-programmatic policies and plans for CMN.
  • •Develop advocacy materials, training curricula, and implementation tools to increase coverage and quality of nutrition actions for CMN interventions globally.
  • •Ensure timely periodic reporting to Senior Management, UN partners, and Member States on CMN policy adoption, programme implementation, and obesity rates.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s-level university degree in nutrition, internal medicine, public health, epidemiology, or a related field.
  • •At least 7 years’ experience in public health nutrition, epidemiology, or medical practice, with focus on noncommunicable diseases and at least 4 years of international exposure.
  • •Proven record developing scientific documents and policy briefs within scope of the position.
  • •Knowledge of the biology and epidemiology of cardiometabolic nutrition and of public health programs to improve care for diet-related noncommunicable diseases, including obesity.
  • •Expert knowledge of English; intermediate knowledge of French is desirable.
