Key Responsibilities

  • •Support and oversee accounting activities including general ledger monitoring, reconciliations, accounting controls, and manual journal entry reviews under IFRS and German GAAP (HGB).
  • •Contribute to month-, quarter-, and year-end closing activities including consolidation entries, FX revaluations, quality reviews, and financial reporting deliverables.
  • •Support tax-related activities including data preparation for tax calculations, VAT reporting, transfer pricing matters, and Head Office tax reporting requirements.
  • •Prepare internal and external financial reports and support reporting obligations to regulators, auditors, and SMBC Head Office.
  • •Maintain and enhance finance procedures, controls, and documentation; act as a key contact for internal and external auditors.

Key Requirements

  • •Several years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Financial Reporting, or Tax within a financial institution, banking environment, or similar regulated organisation.
  • •Strong knowledge of IFRS and German GAAP (HGB) accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
  • •Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline; professional qualifications would be advantageous.
  • •Experience supporting tax, VAT, transfer pricing, audit, or financial reporting activities.
  • •Business fluent German and English.
