Job Summary

Design HVAC and mechanical building systems for healthcare, commercial, laboratory, industrial, and mission-critical facilities. Independently support projects across design and construction, including air distribution, hydronic systems, chiller/boiler plants, automated temperature controls, specifications, and construction administration. Collaborate across multi-discipline teams and with architects, contractors, building owners, vendors, and manufacturers, while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to client meetings and proposals.

Key Responsibilities

•Independently support project teams during design and construction stages.
•Design air distribution, hydronic, and automated temperature controls systems.
•Integrate complex mechanical engineering requirements into facility designs.
•Develop drawing and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors, and building owners.
•Mentor and train junior engineers while overseeing mechanical design review, equipment selection, specifications, and construction administration tasks.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with mechanical building systems emphasis.
•5+ years of experience designing mechanical systems for high-performing commercial, industrial, science & technology, or healthcare facilities.
•Registered Professional Engineer (PE), if eligible.
•Excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork, and written and verbal communication skills.
•Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace, and other engineering analysis programs, plus knowledge of building/mechanical/energy codes and design standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, FGI, etc.).
