Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and families at assigned installations.
  • •Provide one-on-one counseling, consultations, and briefings/presentations, plus referral resources when appropriate.
  • •Develop and make available informational financial materials for service members and families.
  • •Coordinate and deliver personal financial management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle, including pre- and post-deployment events.
  • •Use virtual counseling/electronic communication modes as authorized, and manage duty to warn situations per DoD protocol.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required (may substitute associate degree plus 4 years’ experience, or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience).
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
  • •Must have one of: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
  • •Obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and complete the OCI process as required.
