Key Responsibilities

  • •Maintain frequent, professional communication with working‑level officials at CAC (central and local), MIIT, MPS, and related bureaus; coordinate info requests and routine check‑ins to ensure smooth day‑to‑day interactions.
  • •Track, organize, and drive timely responses for regulatory notifications, inspections, and rectification tasks, ensuring accurate documentation and clear internal ownership to closure.
  • •Support execution of China-specific compliance programs.
  • •Monitor regulatory developments and special enforcement campaigns; distill implications for Duolingo, flag risks early, and coordinate mitigation with cross‑functional partners.
  • •Partner with Legal, Security/GRC, Product, BD and Marketing to operationalize compliant launches and features

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CNY 561,439 - 759,593 annually

Key Requirements

  • •3–8 years of relevant experience in government affairs, regulatory operations, or compliance at a tech, internet, or education company in China; or experience within/working closely with relevant ministries or regulator‑affiliated institutes.
  • •Demonstrated experience coordinating inspections/filings and managing multi‑stakeholder, cross‑functional responses under tight timelines.
  • •Practical familiarity with one or more of the following China regulatory areas: online content governance, data privacy/cross‑border transfer, AI supervision, minors‑protection, cybersecurity, etc.
  • •Excellent organization and documentation skills; rigor in tracking actions, decisions, and evidence for compliance closure.
  • •Clear, concise verbal and written communication in Chinese; professional proficiency in English for internal coordination and reporting.
