Job Summary

Provide engineering laboratory technical expertise to support undergraduate practical classes in the Collaborative Teaching Laboratory. Ensure equipment is fit for purpose, maintained, calibrated, and trouble-shooted to prevent breakdowns. Set up and turn around practical sessions, develop and adapt practical protocols (risk assessments and SOPs), and provide high-level safe instruction to students and staff. You may supervise technical staff and deputise for the lab manager when needed.

Salary: GBP 30,062 - 35,883 annually

Key Requirements

•Extensive relevant workplace experience, or an equivalent professional qualification or degree in an appropriate subject.
•Engineering-related subject background is advantageous, including engineering graduate or relevant technical experience.
•In-depth practical knowledge of technical and scientific methods and extensive experience with laboratory equipment.
•GCSE level 2 (A*-C/4-9) or equivalent in mathematics and English.
•Knowledge of current H&S policies and ability to uphold safety procedures.
