Job Summary

Senior Town Planner role based in the UK with hybrid work options, located in Birmingham or Leeds. You’ll deliver and coordinate major infrastructure planning applications across energy transition, rail, water, and local developments, lead planning statements and consent strategies, and collaborate with environmental assessment teams and business development efforts within a leading UK infrastructure planning practice.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist in the successful delivery of major development applications and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across various project types.
•Assist with project management and implementing quality and health and safety principles.
•Write Planning Statements and Design and Access Statements for development applications; lead, submit, and manage planning applications including liaison with local planning authorities and stakeholders.
•Collaborate with Environmental Impact Assessment team and participate in internal and external meetings.
•Contribute to the preparation of successful commercial tenders and carry out planning research/analysis for consent strategies.

Key Requirements

•Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline (desirable).
•Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or an equivalent professional body (desirable).
•Demonstrable and relevant experience of working on planning applications.
•Sound knowledge of English planning policy and legislation.
•Commercial awareness; ability to write clearly and concisely.
