Key Responsibilities

  • •Support senior and lead mechanical engineers in mechanical design for wastewater and water infrastructure/treatment projects, including pumping calculations, schematics, and schedules.
  • •Produce engineering specification documents related to hydraulics and pump systems, and assist clients with project delivery, asset and network performance and design.
  • •Create lifting, access and maintenance plans and provide timely reporting to clients and internal team leads.
  • •Liaise with internal/external design teams, clients, and contractors as appropriate.
  • •Use digital solutions (including BIM, ProjectWise, intelligent P&IDs, and in-house tools like a pumping station generator) to improve design quality and consistency.

Key Requirements

  • •MEng in Mechanical Engineering (2:1 or above, or equivalent) preferred.
  • •Enthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficient, with ambition and drive.
  • •Basic computer skills essential (Word/Excel) and good report writing skills.
  • •Willing and able to work towards professional qualifications such as Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with the relevant institution (e.g., IMechE).
  • •Demonstrable interest in water projects, with strong ability to structure and prioritise work effectively.
