Job Summary

Build and enhance client intelligence analytics for HSBC’s Client & Banking Analytics team. Extract, clean, and join internal and external datasets using SQL and Python/R, perform exploratory analysis, and support segmentation and customer value modeling. Create repeatable reporting, dashboards, and analysis packs in Power BI/Tableau/Excel, follow data governance standards, and translate findings into clear insights for stakeholders while continuously improving reusable code and automation.

Key Responsibilities

•Extract, clean, and join internal and external datasets using SQL and Python/R, then conduct exploratory analysis and basic feature engineering.
•Assist in building and validating models for segmentation, client profiling, wallet sizing, and customer value measurement.
•Create repeatable reporting, dashboards, and analysis packs with clear commentary and definitions.
•Follow data governance standards, document data sources/assumptions, and support reconciliation and reasonableness checks.
•Help respond to stakeholder questions, refine requirements with feedback, and contribute reusable code, automation, and process improvements.

Key Requirements

•Working knowledge of Python (preferred) with SQL or R, comfortable with data wrangling and basic statistics.
•Exposure to visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau (preferred/plus).
•Experience with disciplined coding practices and a systems mindset.
•Curious, structured problem-solver who can test hypotheses and communicate findings clearly.
•Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or analytical discipline (or equivalent experience).
