Key Responsibilities

  • •Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers, including make-versus-buy input and MRP-based demand coordination to minimize inventory exposure.
  • •Form and coordinate a Materials Core Team to manage product development deliverables via matrix collaboration with buyers, planners, and production control.
  • •Create, release, and update project materials strategy under some supervision, and execute commercialization (transition) materials plans.
  • •Manage sourcing activities including supplier negotiations (as applicable), supplier selection/assessment, supplier risk assessment, and supplier performance monitoring.
  • •Run materials change control, generate Key Process Indicators, track landed cost targets, and partner with quality and engineering to resolve supplier quality issues and meet cost and quality objectives.
