Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead paint operations and maintain highest standards for quality, efficiency, and safety within the Body Repair team.
  • •Establish and maintain standardized paint processes and best practices while supporting workflow planning and prioritization of vehicles.
  • •Coordinate with Body Repair leadership, estimators, body technicians, parts personnel, and other departments to prevent production delays.
  • •Inspect completed work, correct paint defects (e.g., runs, texture issues, dirt, color mismatch), and ensure vehicles meet Body Repair quality standards before the next repair stage.
  • •Provide technical guidance and hands-on training to painters, apprentices, and other team members, including troubleshooting difficult colors and complex refinishing procedures.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 7 years of professional automotive refinishing experience in a collision repair, OEM, or high-quality refinishing environment.
  • •Advanced knowledge of automotive paint preparation, application, blending, color matching, and finishing.
  • •Strong experience with modern waterborne basecoat and clearcoat systems, including spraying complex finishes (solid, metallic, pearl, tri-coat).
  • •Strong understanding of plastic refinishing and preparing automotive substrates, plus the ability to identify paint defects and determine corrective actions.
  • •Ability to follow OEM repair procedures/paint technical data sheets and demonstrate strong paint-shop safety practices (PPE, chemical handling, hazardous-material requirements).
