Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop, organize, and conduct training and educational programs for Fleet sailors supporting SCSTC-SD, including traditional classroom instruction and tactical lab training.
  • •Plan, brief, evaluate, and debrief classes; provide instruction in SUWC tactical employment techniques through classroom and practical scenarios.
  • •Assess and appraise sailors’ abilities to comply with approved maintenance and operational procedures, and provide recommendations to maintain technical and tactical proficiency.
  • •Review and analyze Aegis Combat System capabilities/limitations and integrate Navy operational and tactical doctrine into execution of doctrine for dynamic tactical environments.
  • •Support course reviews and curriculum updates by performing training gap analysis, documenting training outcomes, and maintaining training records and program effectiveness.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.
  • •Seven (7) years of experience as a qualified Aegis SUWC with responsibility for teaching the applicable system/function task to others in a journeyman-level training environment.
  • •One (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy training environment, including curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, and evaluating instruction results.
  • •Secret security clearance (must currently possess and be able to obtain).
  • •US citizenship required.
