Job Summary

Support sanctions compliance by interpreting domestic and international sanctions regimes and investigating complex, high-risk sanctions alerts. Assist the Compliance Manager with sanctions risk themes, referrals, and ensuring adherence to the Group Sanctions Policy and related guidance. Coordinate with business units to resolve alerts and client information, provide training to alert review teams, maintain metrics and records, and recommend improvements to strengthen sanctions risk management.

Key Responsibilities

•Interpret sanctions regimes and ensure full adherence to the Group Sanctions Policy, sanctions guidance, and operating procedures.
•Investigate complex and high-risk sanctions alerts and handle sanctions referrals according to bank policy without breaching applicable sanctions standards.
•Support the Compliance Manager with sanctions risk themes and trends, improving sanctions risk management capability.
•Coordinate with business units to resolve alerts and client information, and assist with compliance projects involving system and procedural changes.
•Provide guidance, support, and training to Compliance Operations alert review teams and maintain records and metrics, preparing monthly and ad-hoc management reports.

Key Requirements

•Interpret domestic and international sanctions and maintain awareness of sanctions impacting the bank and its branches or subsidiaries.
•Conduct investigations of complex and high-risk sanctions alerts in line with regulatory requirements and internal compliance policies and procedures.
•Demonstrate strong knowledge of compliance, sanctions, AML, and KYC/CDD policies and procedures, including sanctions regulations and guidance.
•Have 4+ years of banking experience, including 2 years of compliance experience, in one or more risk compliance roles with relevant sanctions experience.
•Understand sanctions screening and relevant business/operations processes that support sanctions screening; professional qualification (e.g., CAMS, CGSS) is desirable.
