Key Responsibilities

  • •Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers and support outsourcing decisions using make-versus-buy analysis.
  • •Coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure and manage materials strategy updates for projects.
  • •Form and coordinate a Materials Core Team, matrix-managing buyers, planners, and production control while collaborating with engineering.
  • •Assist with supplier sourcing: price and delivery negotiations, supplier selection/assessment, supplier risk assessment, and monitoring delivery/quality/cost performance.
  • •Manage materials change control, meet cost objectives, resolve quality issues with quality/engineering teams, and generate/publish KPIs and track landed cost targets.
