Key Responsibilities

•Safely perform manual construction tasks to assist highway, utility, and grade crews or at on-site plant locations.
•Assist with prepping work areas, including clearing debris and preparing ground surfaces for paving.
•Support asphalt placement by shoveling/raking asphalt behind paver equipment and leveling with rakes.
•Dig out buried manhole covers and water valve boxes and maintain tools/equipment by cleaning after each work day.
•Help with related labor tasks such as cutting concrete/asphalt with saws and sweeping, and assist with equipment operation if trained.

•Prepare ground surfaces for road building and remove debris from the construction path.

•Set up fencing, barricades, and/or safety cones to block off the work area as needed.
•Prepare manhole covers/openings and water lines; may insert risers as needed.
