Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop secure, well-tested, performant features and improvements using Ruby and GraphQL.
  • •Design and maintain backend services, APIs, data models, and business logic supporting source code workflows.
  • •Collaborate across teams asynchronously and synchronously, using domain expert input when helpful.
  • •Use AI coding agents for well-scoped work and critically review their output.
  • •Improve reliability by monitoring production health, participating in Tier 2 on-call, troubleshooting incidents, and contributing to root cause analysis and observability/resiliency improvements.

Key Requirements

  • •Professional experience building backend web applications, services, or APIs with Ruby and GraphQL.
  • •Understanding of relational databases, SQL, data modeling, caching, background processing, and backend performance practices.
  • •Experience contributing to user-facing workflows and maintaining their underlying systems.
  • •Experience writing backend unit and integration tests, including familiarity with the testing pyramid and collaborative code review processes.
  • •Clear written and spoken English communication skills in a remote, asynchronous environment.
