Job Summary

Coordinate and manage construction activities for the Bridge segment of the Brent Spence Bridge project, serving as a front-line advocate for the BSMT (Owner). Oversee construction administration, inspections, quality control, field/lab testing, RFIs, and design changes, using real-time project data. Lead and attend progress and look-ahead meetings, act as liaison between Contractor and Owner on contentious issues, and support claim defense and contract modifications while ensuring safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage construction administration including drafting change orders, resolving field issues, interpreting specifications, and communicating with the Contractor.
•Oversee construction oversight, inspections, quality control, material sampling, field/laboratory testing, and quality assurance.
•Use real-time project data to manage RFIs, design changes, and mitigation of contractor non-conformance, including review of daily reports.
•Utilize AASHTOWare, ProjectSolve, GoFormZ, and Procore to support safe, reliable documentation and final documentation requirements.
•Coordinate and attend look-ahead and progress meetings; act as intermediary between Contractor and Owner in dispute resolution and support claim defense and contract modifications.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Technology) or equivalent experience.
•Minimum 12 years’ experience directing construction activities and crews on civil projects.
•Prequalification as a Construction Engineer Level 1/Construction Manager with ODOT for Ohio-governed work and/or Engineer-In-Training recognized by the Kentucky Board of Licensure (with at least two years of engineering experience).
•ACI Level I and additional field inspection/testing qualifications (Aggregate Sampling Technician, Grade & Drain Level I Technician, Asphalt Field Technician, Structural Inspection Level I, KEPSC-RI qualification, Work Zone Traffic Control Technician).
•Demonstrated ability to read contract documents and strong oral and written communication skills.
