Job Summary

Support Test & Commissioning (T&C) operational staff at Osborne Naval Shipyard by providing mechanical engineering data and T&C engineering documents needed to set to work and test ship systems. Work within the Hunter Class T&C engineering team to mature operations build strategy, review product changes, lead investigations with root cause analysis, and help execute the T&C program scope through engineering support and cross-trained resources.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide, develop, validate, and tailor T&C processes, instructions, capability sheets, handbooks, and practices using LfE sources, best practices, industry standards, and legislation.
•Provide engineering support to the T&C team to mature the Operations Build Strategy and T&C STW Plans and other required deliverables.
•Support review of HCF T&C product changes and assess the effect on the T&C program.
•Provide engineering support to ensure mechanical structures, elements, and systems are supported with engineering data across the HCF T&C program.
•Collaborate with the HCF T&C team to execute the T&C program scope, including identifying skillsets, training/upskilling, and cross-training resources to mitigate single points of failure.

Key Requirements

•Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
•3-6 years of trade industry experience.
•Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
•Provide mechanical engineering judgement within delegated authority to ensure solutions are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.
•Lead investigation and resolution of mechanical and system-level issues during integration and commissioning, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
