Job Summary

Supervise two tugboats at Port d’Ehoala by supporting the on-duty tug captain and taking ownership of both operational readiness and key administrative duties. Ensure vessels are available and maintained, keep required logs and maritime records, and support safe navigation activities after completing training. Lead onboard crews, follow ISPS and port safety requirements, and participate in periodic safety exercises while meeting STCW and qualification standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Support the on-duty tug captain and supervise two tugboats, including a share of administrative tasks.
•Ensure tugboats are always available for navigation and are maintained clean and ready for immediate use.
•Maintain vessel logs, records, documents, and reports required by national and international maritime laws and tug classification.
•Manage onboard crews and support their development.
•Assist with ship entry/exit maneuvers at Port d’Ehoala after training and ensure periodic onboard safety drills are carried out.

Key Requirements

•Strong commitment to safety and promoting a “Zero Injury” culture.

•Hold up-to-date complementary STCW certificates.
•Have 12 months of navigation experience as a tug captain.
•Demonstrate effective leadership, strong oral and written communication, and proficiency in French, Malagasy, and English.
