Key Responsibilities

  • •Gain detailed understanding of HMA production processes and mix specification requirements.
  • •Learn QC methods and reporting procedures, including working with QC technicians on smoothness determinations and IRI reporting.
  • •Assist with testing and calibrating equipment to evaluate material requirements (weight, gravity, temperature, thickness, gradation).
  • •Enter test result data into computers in laboratories and remote locations, and communicate results with technicians.
  • •Assist paving personnel in adjusting processes to conform to specifications while adhering to safety practices, company policies, and the Ethics Policy.

Key Requirements

  • •Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and working towards an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Construction Management, or a related degree program.
  • •Ability to read English sufficiently to understand specifications, reports, manuals, and regulations.
  • •Ability to perform intermediate mathematical skills including basic algebra, geometry, and shop math.
  • •Willingness to travel and work away from home when required, and to work nights and weekends as necessary.
  • •Ability to safely perform physical demands including lifting/moving more than 100 pounds and working near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor conditions.
