  • •Manage the day-to-day operations of a pod of Fraud Investigators, including 1:1s, side-by-sides, and coaching to improve investigative techniques.
  • •Oversee complex fraud queues to maintain case-closure SLAs while preserving investigative quality.
  • •Step in on the most complex, ambiguous, or high-dollar investigations, providing final guidance for technical and analytical challenges.
  • •Run weekly calibration sessions to spot emerging fraud typologies and partner with Risk, Compliance, and Product to strengthen automated defenses.
  • •Establish investigative playbooks and ensure your pod’s decisions align with Wealthsimple’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •At least 1 year of tenure at Wealthsimple in an L3 role (or higher) with a “Meets Expectations” rating on your most recent performance review.
  • •4+ years of direct, hands-on backend fraud investigation experience across areas like banking/fiat fraud, account takeovers, payments, or digital assets.
  • •Proven track record mentoring, coaching, or leading peers, with the ability to create psychological safety in high-stress situations.
  • •Deep understanding of fraud typologies and financial ledgers, including the ability to analyze complex data such as IPs, device IDs, and transaction metadata.
  • •Strong written and verbal communication skills to translate investigation findings into clear business impact for leadership and partner teams.
