Job Summary

Lead Cost Controller responsible for implementing and maintaining cost control systems on medium-complexity life science construction projects. You will manage budgets, forecasts, schedules, and cost reporting, support decision-making with cost data, and ensure data integrity and SOX controls where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

•Implement, administer and maintain cost control system and procedures to track project budgets, commitments, expenditures and forecasts for projects of medium complexity and value.
•Assist in the preparation and review of cost estimates; provide cost information to support decision making and alternative selection.
•Evaluate and analyze fee proposals / bids and provide recommendations for decision making; provide forecasts and cash flow analysis.
•Maintain and manage the cost report and provide regular updates on financial position; assist in the development, validation and maintenance of the project schedule.
•Develop reporting tracking tools and generate cost reports on a regular basis, including evaluation of earned value; build intricate spreadsheets for data manipulation; reconcile data to ensure audit trails and accuracy; SOX controls may apply.

Key Requirements

•8+ years of Cost Control experience within construction.
•A recognized university degree in Construction Management or related field.
•Experience implementing, administering and maintaining cost control systems to track budgets, commitments, expenditures and forecasts.
•Ability to assist in the development, validation and maintenance of project schedules and cost reporting.
•SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role; adherence to relevant controls where applicable.
