Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and mentor the Bayport POTBA CSE team to deliver business results and drive continuous improvement.
  • •Set the CSE team strategy and deliver performance against metrics for APC, DCS, alarm management, and other control systems initiatives.
  • •Champion operational and process safety excellence by leading safety activities and coordinating participation in incident investigations, PHAs, MOCs, turnarounds, and audits.
  • •Manage control-system risk to site performance by overseeing mitigation development and long-range planning, including cybersecurity and equipment-obsolescence risks.
  • •Provide troubleshooting and backup operational support, including assuming technical responsibilities as needed for CSE engineers or specialists to balance workload and priorities.

Key Requirements

  • •Typically 7+ years of experience in petrochemical and/or refining plant processes with background in process/production engineering or process controls engineering.
  • •B.S. in Chemical Engineering preferred; B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering acceptable with sufficient process controls experience.
  • •Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, coaching, and management skills to lead technical employees and a combined engineering/specialist team.
  • •Working knowledge of process safety and risk processes, including OSHA 1910.119 (PHA, HAZOP analysis, MOC, PSSR).
  • •Knowledge of controls and engineering fundamentals, including SIS theory and DCS/SIS logic solver experience (Honeywell TDC3000/Experion and/or Schneider Triconex/Foxboro preferred).
