Job Summary

Own the end-to-end CNC tooling ecosystem that powers Mach’s manufacturing operations. You’ll standardize tools and toolholding across machines, CAM platforms, and production cells; manage the tooling database; build tool assemblies; and connect tooling data to verification, pre-setters, and documentation. Partner across Manufacturing Engineering, CNC Programming, Machinists, Supply Chain, and Production to reduce variation, prevent shortages, improve tool life, and lower cost per part while ramping from prototyping to production.

Key Responsibilities

•Own and maintain Mach’s CNC tool database, including tool records, assemblies, holders, offsets, cutting data, vendor information, and standard tool libraries.
•Standardize tooling across production jobs, CNC machines, CAM platforms, and manufacturing cells to reduce variation and improve repeatability.
•Build and maintain tool assemblies and define tooling standards for toolholding, shrink-fit systems, gauge length, runout, torque, coolant delivery, and inspection requirements.
•Coordinate tooling data integration with CAM platforms, verification systems, pre-setters, machine controls, and production documentation; support RFID/QR/barcode tooling identification.
•Analyze tool wear and failure modes and lead root-cause support for tooling-related production issues to improve tool life and reduce cost per part.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 105,000 - 180,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Strong hands-on CNC machining and tooling selection background, including manufacturing engineering or production tooling operations.
•Deep understanding of cutting tools and toolholding systems, including inserts, coatings, grades, geometries, feeds/speeds, tool wear, and material-specific machining strategies.
•Experience selecting and standardizing tooling for milling, turning, drilling, boring, threading, finishing, and high-production machining operations.
•Working knowledge of CAM systems, tool libraries, and CNC production workflows plus machine setup documentation.
•Ability to manage tooling inventory/crib systems and translate tooling data into production improvements while collaborating with machinists, programmers, engineers, and vendors.
