Job Summary

Build and improve Xero’s Reporting experiences in the Reporting team, owning meaningful work end to end from problem shaping and design through delivery, production validation, and ongoing improvement. You’ll help small businesses and advisors understand performance and complete reporting and compliance tasks faster. Work closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and platform teams, modernizing the reporting platform while raising the quality bar through testing and observability.

Key Responsibilities

•Own reporting initiatives, services, or workstreams from design through rollout, production validation, and ongoing improvement.
•Build and improve customer-facing reporting experiences focused on clarity, usability, reliability, and performance.
•Modernise parts of the reporting platform to improve developer experience and delivery speed.
•Write high-quality, maintainable code and provide strong design and code review feedback.
•Support other engineers through mentoring and knowledge-sharing, and raise the quality bar using testing, observability, and operational readiness.

Key Requirements

•Strong experience in backend, platform, or product engineering in a SaaS environment with meaningful scale or complexity.
•Track record of owning significant features, services, or initiatives end to end.
•Solid systems thinking and engineering judgement, with the ability to make good technical decisions autonomously.
•Experience building for data-heavy or analytics-oriented use cases with a focus on performance, correctness, and usability.
•Hands-on mindset focused on code quality, testing, and production outcomes, with clear communication and collaboration.
