Job Summary

Provide engineering and maintenance support for Dubai Metro rolling stock, assisting the Rolling Stock Team Leader with preventive and corrective maintenance, minor modifications, inspections, and routine repairs. Diagnose faults, replace and install electrical/electronic parts, perform wheel truing and bogie overhaul, and operate relevant test and metalworking equipment. Maintain accurate maintenance records using a computerized maintenance management system while following Permit to Work processes and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist the Rolling Stock Team Leader with preventive and corrective maintenance and minor modifications on rolling stock (including passenger service and engineering support vehicles, shunting vehicles, and wagons).
•Carry out routine inspections, inspect parts for surface defects, change consumable items, and perform minor repairs and technical cleaning.
•Test the functional performance of electromechanical assemblies and replace/install electrical and electronic parts and hardware, including alignment and assembly of component parts.
•Operate metalworking machines and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies and systems, verifying dimensions and clearances to meet specifications and tolerances.
•Maintain accurate maintenance records using a computerized maintenance management system, follow Permit to Work processes, and perform shift and emergency duties as required.

Key Requirements

•Vocational trade certificate or diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering (or equivalent).
•Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand the internal workings of rolling stock.
•Ability to use and calibrate electrical, electronic, and mechanical test equipment, and use PC for rolling stock maintenance.
•Working knowledge of maintaining and repairing car body, bogies and suspension, couplers and draft gears, braking, batteries, auxiliary power, electrical equipment, and related systems (desirable).
•Good eyesight and normal colour vision, plus the ability to write simple technical reports and prepare method statements and drawings as required.
