Job Summary

Perform DOT-certified trailer inspections and preventative maintenance for customer fleets in a mobile, on-site environment. Diagnose and repair refrigeration systems and trailer equipment (brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps/engines, liftgates, brake chambers), including welding and fabrication when needed. Manage parts inventory on a company service truck, respond to call-center dispatched service requests, and complete DOT paperwork and repair orders using an iOS device and proprietary TRAIT application. Travel is 100% in the field.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform certified DOT inspections and preventative maintenance inspections on trailers and related equipment.
•Diagnose and repair/replace components including compressors, coils, and electrical components.
•Perform minor adjustments and repairs on trailer systems such as aluminum and chem-lite, trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps and engines, liftgates, brake chambers, and more advanced repairs under supervision as needed.
•Respond to call-center dispatched unscheduled service and maintenance requests and manage parts inventory and equipment on a company-issued service truck.
•Document work per company standards by uploading repair order findings and pictures using a company-issued iOS device and proprietary TRAIT application; complete DOT forms and other documentation; follow OSHA, EPA, and DOT compliance and safety training.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or alternative education/certification combinations or 5 years’ experience).
•At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
•Certified to use refrigerants R134, R404, R410 and others as needed.
•Possess and supply the hand tools necessary for the role; OEM training/certifications preferred.
•Must pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical; maintain a current valid DOT medical card and valid driver’s license.
