Job Summary

Support the Materials Engineering Team across Atlantic Canada by performing field and laboratory tests on construction materials including soil, concrete, and hot mix asphalt. Operate and maintain testing equipment, assist with calibration and safe sample handling, and compile/analyze experimental data to produce clear reports. Collaborate with engineers and scientists, manage multiple projects, and follow WSP safety and ethics policies while traveling to project sites as required.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform field and/or laboratory tests and experiments to assess soil, concrete, and hot mix asphalt properties and behaviour.
•Operate and maintain testing equipment and instruments to ensure accurate results.
•Support equipment calibration, maintenance, and housekeeping to maintain a safe working environment.
•Support sample management and safe material handling for shipping, receiving, logging, storage, and disposal.
•Collaborate with engineers and scientists, compile and analyze experimental data, and prepare clear reports while managing multiple projects and following WSP safety/ethics policies.

Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

•Experience or strong interest in field and laboratory testing of construction materials such as soils, concrete, and asphalt.
•Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software for data analysis.
•A valid driver’s licence and ability to provide a current, satisfactory driver’s abstract for regular site travel.
•Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and a safety-first mindset.
•Good written and verbal English communication skills, plus reliability and strong time management.
