Key Responsibilities

  • •Formulate, mix, and dispense automotive refinish materials and apply them to vehicle surfaces and sub-assemblies according to standards and procedures.
  • •Perform advanced painting work, including color matching, clear coats, and refinishing procedures such as multi-stage systems and two-tone/stripes.
  • •Inspect equipment and panels pre- and post-work for damage, blemishes, and subtle defects; diagnose and troubleshoot paint imperfections and formulation issues.
  • •Prep for painting, including minor body repairs/adjustments, seal work, door repair, glass care, and related refinishing prep tasks.
  • •Maintain and clean paint formulation and spray application equipment and manage supplies to meet production requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED (or related certification/degree) and 4–5 years of experience in a related field or as a Paint Technician for medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair.
  • •Minimum 4 years of experience as a Paint Technician on medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair (or equivalent combination of education/certifications/skills).
  • •Possess and supply the set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
  • •Hold or earn ASE B2 (Painting and Refinishing), ASE B3 (Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair), and ASE B5 (Mechanical and Electrical) certifications.
