Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as APAC Head of Compliance with end-to-end responsibility for compliance oversight across payments, e-money, lending, merchant acquiring, wallets, FX, remittance, and other regulated activities.
  • •Design, implement, and continuously enhance a scalable, risk-based compliance framework aligned to local regulatory requirements and global standards.
  • •Develop and execute the region’s regulatory and licensing strategy, including applications, renewals, variations, and ongoing supervisory obligations across relevant licensing regimes.
  • •Lead regulator and supervisory authority engagement through regional compliance leaders; monitor regulatory developments and translate them into policies, controls, and operational guidance.
  • •Own regulatory examinations, audits, and supervisory reviews; maintain regional governance, risk registers and remediation plans; escalate risks; and provide C-suite/Board-level reporting while building and mentoring the compliance team.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • •Strong compliance experience across payments/financial institutions/fintech/lending/regulatory bodies, with leadership managing compliance functions across multiple APAC jurisdictions and direct experience in at least 3: Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand.
  • •Deep familiarity with APAC advanced markets regulation and extensive experience with financial services licensing and supervision (payments, e-money, stored value facilities, lending, merchant acquiring, remittance, FX).
  • •Proven ability to engage with APAC regulators, including obtaining licenses and managing examinations, inspections, regulatory inquiries, and supervisory relationships.
  • •Proficiency with governance, risk and compliance (GRC) tools, issue/tracker systems, and data analytics for risk indicators; strong written and verbal communication skills.
