Key Responsibilities

•Design and develop novel control solutions for aerospace and defense applications, bringing system-level perspective to cutting-edge technologies from multiple fields.
•Lead and participate in externally and internally sponsored programs, write research proposals, and manage project execution.
•Disseminate research results through reports, conference proceedings, peer-reviewed articles, and contribute to intellectual property development.
•Collaborate with industry, academia, and government agencies to translate research into impactful products and solutions.
•Learn to transition concepts from early technology stages to real-world product impact across RTX businesses.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 86,800 - 165,200 annually

Key Requirements

•Ph.D. in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or Engineering.
•Strong fundamentals in control, including multivariable control and estimation techniques (e.g., LQR/LQG, Kalman filters) and optimization-based control (e.g., MPC).
•Experience with machine learning for control, including reinforcement learning for safety-critical systems, verification and validation of AI/ML control laws, and neural-network representations of controllers/estimators (e.g., Physics-Informed Neural Networks).
•Control-oriented modeling of physical systems, from first principles to data-driven methods (including PINNs).
•Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow.
