Key Responsibilities

  • •Own critical payments and backend services for Faire Pay, including KYB/KYC verification, third-party integrations, credit limits, monthly statements, and interest/fee calculation.
  • •Collaborate with Product and Design to improve the retailer-facing experience from enrollment and checkout through statements and repayment.
  • •Partner with Risk and Data Science to integrate eligibility, underwriting, and limit-assignment signals while keeping pipelines reliable.
  • •Measure and iterate on program performance using experimentation and analytics to drive adoption and healthy repayment behavior.
  • •Mentor engineers and help set standards for design reviews, testing, and operational excellence for systems that move real money.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of experience building backend systems; payments, credit, or lending experience is a plus.
  • •Strong proficiency in Kotlin (or similar object-oriented languages) with grounding in distributed systems and service design.
  • •Comfort designing correctness-critical, auditability- and compliance-focused systems.
  • •Experience partnering cross-functionally with Product, Design, Risk, and Data Science.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
