Key Responsibilities

  • •Evaluate opportunities and technology with Cedars-Sinai, surfacing high-conviction problems and assessing solvability and where AI creates durable advantage.
  • •Develop and stress-test technically grounded venture theses through primary conversations and hands-on prototyping.
  • •Run technical diligence by evaluating concepts, tools/models/data/vendors, and building prototypes and proofs-of-concept to de-risk technical assumptions.
  • •Support founders and companies with early technical decisions (architecture, build-vs-buy, data strategy, AI/ML approach, hiring) and access to Cedars-Sinai’s network and data platform.
  • •Scale technical judgment through AI-enabled systems and help build LA’s healthcare-founder community with local universities and talent.

Key Requirements

  • •Have been a founder and early founding-team technical leader who built a product and company from the ground up.
  • •5–8+ years building technology, with meaningful time as a CTO, founding engineer, or senior technical leader at an early-stage company.
  • •Have a technical or scientific foundation with a degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering, or related field.
  • •Have deep, current fluency in modern AI/LLMs to distinguish real advantage and guide build-vs-buy decisions.
  • •Demonstrate commercial and product judgment to decide which problems are worth solving and which to kill quickly.
