Job Summary

Design, implement, and operate a streaming-first data platform to enable near real-time data access across the organization. You’ll own a hybrid Databricks-Snowflake architecture, drive governance and data quality, mentor teammates, and contribute to scalable distributed systems on AWS/GCP with IaC tooling, all while advancing cloud data infrastructure in a remote-first environment within the US/Canada.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, implement, and maintain a streaming-first data platform built on modern technologies (Kafka, Protobuf, Iceberg) enabling near real-time data access across the organization
•Build and operate a hybrid Databricks and Snowflake architecture for data engineering, streaming processing, and AI/ML workloads, with Snowflake as the governed serving layer
•Own the unified storage layer to ensure a consistent, governed data foundation used by analysts, engineers, and AI systems
•Champion platform standards, tooling, and best practices across the data organization and promote data as a first-class product surface
•Mentor and develop other data platform engineers while delivering high-impact technical contributions

•7+ years of proven relevant industry experience in data platforms
•5+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) and open-source data infrastructure tools
•5+ years experience with big data engines and stores (Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)
•Experience programming in Python, Go, Scala/Java or similar languages for large-scale distributed systems
•Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; mentoring others in data platform engineering
