Job Summary

Work on next-generation data center platforms and software within Cisco’s Distributed Software Engineering group, supporting large-scale, low-latency networking and switching solutions. Join a testing team that partners closely with development to design and automate tests from functional specifications, take ownership of components, and enable platform/software solutions for customers. Contribute to BIOS and related firmware areas, including Linux drivers, networking stacks, storage area network and Ethernet features.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and test platform/software solutions for customers within Cisco’s Distributed Software Engineering organization.
•Design test strategies from functional specifications and automate test execution to deliver world-class quality products.
•Own and contribute to multiple components, collaborating with development and peer technical leaders on design, functional, and architectural aspects.
•Work on BIOS-focused development areas including firmware, networking stack integration, and related hardware interactions.
•Collaborate on enabling next-generation data center networking features, including Storage Area Network and Ethernet-related work.

Key Requirements

•B.E/B.Tech/ME/Mtech/MS from a reputed university plus 8-12 years of software development experience in embedded systems or system software.
•Hands-on engineer/leader who can contribute to architecture, design, and development across the platform development cycle.
•Strong understanding of hardware boards/layout and in-depth understanding of BIOS.
•Development experience in BIOS/GRUB/uboot, Linux device drivers/Linux KLM, networking stack, and memory model.
•Experience with BIOS-related platforms/peripherals such as PCH; PCI, I2C, SPI; HiGig+ bus; FPGA/CPLD; and OS special devices/peripherals (I2C-GPIO expanders).
