Key Responsibilities

  • •Analyze, value, and provide risk analysis for complex transactions and portfolio positions, including power generation, load contracts, derivatives, hedging strategies, and trading assets.
  • •Develop and monitor position and P&L reports for NRG’s energy portfolio.
  • •Mark and/or validate end-of-day curves in the risk system.
  • •Enhance and automate risk processes using problem-solving and analytical skills with new technologies.
  • •Collaborate with the Risk team and other departments, and support internal and external audit requests.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or Sciences.
  • •Extensive experience with MS Excel.
  • •Proven ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets.
  • •Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail and strong organization.
  • •Knowledge of energy markets is a plus (electricity, natural gas, renewables and/or oil markets).
