Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare cost estimates covering materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, labor, and other construction-related activities to support account managers in bidding and pricing.
  • •Develop detailed scope and cost estimates from account managers’ design-build scope or plans/specifications for competitive bidding through contracting channels.
  • •Create detailed estimates using system sketches, scope definition, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposals, and vendor/sub-contractor quotes, including points lists.
  • •Perform take-offs and pricing for purchased equipment to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, and options.
  • •Hold pre-bid meetings, identify cost-saving opportunities and risk items, and optimize job costs by negotiating vendor/sub-contractor pricing; assist with out-sourced engineering needs and cost-variation control with operations/fulfillment.

Key Requirements

  • •Associates or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with 3–5 years of estimating, engineering, or construction management experience, or 5–7 years of controls field experience.
  • •Proven experience with Building Automation, HVAC Controls, and HVAC systems.
  • •Working knowledge of construction facets including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems (preferred).
  • •Strong financial and business acumen with a record of running projects on time and on budget.
  • •Bilingual English and French, with flexibility to work overtime/weekends as required.
