Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the binational content strategy for Telemundo 20 across broadcast, streaming, digital, social, and emerging platforms.
  • •Ensure journalism reflects station brand values, editorial standards, and commitment to the San Diego–Tijuana community.
  • •Lead Spanish-language breaking news, enterprise reporting, investigative journalism, special projects, and major event coverage with accuracy and fairness.
  • •Plan and execute duopoly sports and severe weather coverage across NBC 7 and Telemundo 20 channels and platforms.
  • •Supervise, coach, and develop duopoly meteorologists and sports talent; collaborate with station leadership to maximize reach and engagement.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • •Minimum five years of newsroom leadership experience, including News Director, Assistant News Director, Executive Producer, or comparable management experience.
  • •Demonstrated success leading content strategy and managing teams in a competitive television news environment.
  • •Experience overseeing breaking news coverage and major live-event execution.
  • •Fluent in Spanish and English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
