Job Summary

Join the toolroom team in this newly created Tooling Technician role supporting injection mould operations. You’ll perform maintenance, cleaning, and servicing of moulds to maximize capacity with minimal production disruption. Responsibilities include inspection, initial fault finding, component replacement and repair, toolroom equipment upkeep, and checking hydraulic, pneumatic, and cooling systems. You’ll work alongside shift engineers and machinists while following safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform maintenance, cleaning, and servicing of injection moulds to ensure maximum tool capacity with minimal disruption to production.
•Conduct inspection and initial fault finding on tooling.
•Replace and repair components as needed.
•Keep toolroom equipment in good working order.
•Check hydraulic, pneumatic, and cooling systems and support fitter machinists/toolroom engineers.

Key Requirements

•Perform maintenance, cleaning, and servicing of injection moulds to keep tools operating at maximum capacity with minimal production disruption.
•Carry out inspection and initial fault finding, including component replacement and repair.
•Maintain and support toolroom equipment upkeep and work alongside fitter machinists/toolroom engineers.
•Demonstrate mechanical competency to repair and fit components, including the ability to read mechanical drawings.
•Hold an NVQ 2 Mechanical Engineering qualification and have 2 years relevant experience in an engineering or production environment.
