Job Summary

Prepare and cook menu items for the M&S Café according to recipes and presentation standards, ensuring orders are accurate and delivered on time. Support daily kitchen operations including opening/closing, safe equipment use, and keeping the kitchen clean and organized. Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in line with HACCP and food handling procedures, monitor freshness and expiry dates, minimize waste, and assist with stock receiving, rotation, and inventory needs.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare and cook menu items according to M&S Café recipes, specifications, and presentation standards; ensure consistent quality within service time targets.
•Assemble customer orders accurately and efficiently and support delivery timing with front-of-house colleagues.
•Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in line with HACCP, Municipality, and M&S Food Safety policies; follow safe storage, labeling, and temperature control.
•Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and correctly; keep workstations, utensils, and areas cleaned and sanitized regularly.
•Assist with stock receiving and storage, monitor stock levels, support rotation and inventory counts, and minimize food waste.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma or equivalent (Hospitality or Culinary qualification is an advantage).
•1–3 years’ experience in a café, restaurant, commercial kitchen, food retail, or hospitality environment.
•Previous experience preparing food in accordance with food safety standards.
•Knowledge of HACCP, Municipality regulations, and food hygiene best practices.
•Good communication skills in English; ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
