Job Summary

Operate and support asphalt paving work, including controlling and operating asphalt paving equipment and preparing areas to fine grade. Follow MSHA/OSHA/DOT safety rules, complete daily safety assignments, and perform site measurements and alignment support. Assist with traffic control setup and earth/aggregate placement, operate tools like air hammers and power saws, and drive vehicles to and from job sites while carrying and maintaining materials and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

•Control and operate the asphalt paving machine.
•Follow and enforce safety rules and conduct daily safety assignments.
•Measure from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretch tight line for alignment and movement.
•Assist with traffic control (signals, signs, barricades, cones) and traffic flagging.
•Shovel, rake, spread, and level earth, aggregates, and hot asphalt mix; assist with equipment/tool use and site cleanup.

Key Requirements

•Adhere to MSHA/OSHA/DOT safety rules and regulations.
•Complete daily safety assignments (area inspections, pre-shifts, JSA’s, TRACK).

•Able to work various times during day, night, or weekend hours, at various locations.
•Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent; previous construction paving experience preferred (training provided).
