Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist with managing experimental work and laboratories.
  • •Advise on techniques and experimental procedures used by researchers and/or students based on in-depth knowledge.
  • •Diagnose and resolve problems in techniques/experiments and suggest solutions, seeking approval for proposed changes.
  • •Perform specialist technical and experimental procedures, using judgment to select and potentially improve techniques.
  • •Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and lab operating and health & safety procedures.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 30,062 - 31,900 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Experience working with human liver tissue, including isolating primary human liver endothelial cells and primary biliary epithelial cells.
  • •Experience with paraffin embedded tissue for immunohistochemical staining, multicolour immunofluorescence, and light microscopy/confocal imaging with image analysis software.
  • •Experience with liver endothelial cell culture and techniques including immunocytochemistry, PCR, siRNA knockdown, and Western blotting.
  • •Extensive relevant laboratory experience, plus an equivalent professional qualification or degree in Immunology.
  • •GCSE level 2 (A*- C/4-9) or equivalent level 2 qualification in mathematics and English; knowledge of current legislation and H&S policies relevant to the role.
