  • •Own the architecture and rollout strategy for critical platform services, from design through large-scale rollout and migration.
  • •Set the technical bar for designing, publishing, and maintaining customer-facing APIs, including security, reliability, and developer experience.
  • •Stitch together services across Vanta’s platform to serve customer-facing use cases, designing service boundaries and partnering with data-platform teams.
  • •Drive RFCs and decision records that make architectural decisions durable and shared across the team.
  • •Mentor engineers, expand review capacity, and partner with the EM on team health and culture.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of backend development building reliable, scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
  • •Designed and shipped external/public product APIs (contracts, versioning, authentication) and the developer experience around them.
  • •Experience thinking in service boundaries and system design, with enough data-layer fluency to partner with platform teams.
  • •Comfort working in a modern frontend codebase (React); ability to build product end to end.
  • •Track record driving complex, ambiguous, multi-quarter initiatives and safely rolling out or deprecating major systems at scale.
